The Amistad Murals consists of three panels: The Revolt, The Court Scene, and Back to Africa. They are housed in Savery Library and are known as one of artist Hale Aspacio Woodruff’s best known works.

Jameus Hartsfield, Intramural Director

Jameus Hartsfield entered the Talladega College family in August 2008. His hard work and dedication however did not go unnoticed. He was offered a job by the college in February 2009 as Interim Student Activities Director. After accepting and doing an outstanding job, he now has a different title, but bring forth the same enthusiasm as the Intramural Director here at Talladega College.

He was born on August 31, 1986 in Marlin, Texas to Kenneth and Sonja Washington. In 2000, Jameus attended Marlin High School, where he played and lettered in basketball and track and field. After graduation, he played on a basketball scholarship at Texas College under Coach Andre Payne.

In 2008, he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Education. Coach Hartsfield graduated with many academic as well as athletic accolades. A few in particular in which he’s most proud of is he was on the Texas College Dean’s list for three(3) consecutive years, the “Nations” Leading Rebounder for two (2) consecutive years, and also in his final season with the Steers he was named Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

Coach Hartsfield is the proud father two kids.
